MOSA (Mesh Offline Secure Architecture) is a military-grade secure offline mesh communication system developed by Talivio Technology OÜ. It allows you to communicate without internet or GSM networks using standard smartphones or optional Gateway devices. MOSA uses mesh networking technology where devices connect directly to each other, relaying messages through the network to reach their destination.

No! You can start using MOSA with just your smartphone. The app uses your phone's built-in Bluetooth (BLE) to create a mesh network with nearby devices. Gateway devices (Lite, Pro, Platinum) are optional and extend the communication range significantly. For basic mesh communication within 30-50 meters, no additional hardware is needed.

MOSA uses mesh networking technology. Your phone connects directly to nearby devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), LoRa, or FSK protocols. When you send a message, it's encrypted and relayed through the mesh network - hopping from device to device until it reaches the destination. The network is completely decentralized, meaning there are no central servers required.

Yes! MOSA uses military-grade encryption: • End-to-end encryption (E2EE) with ChaCha20-Poly1305 • Digital signatures with Ed25519 • Key exchange with X25519 • Forward Secrecy (past messages remain secure even if a key is compromised) • Zero-Knowledge architecture (even Gateway operators cannot see message content) • Local storage encryption with AES-256-GCM Your messages are encrypted before leaving your device and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient.

MOSA Core is completely free forever and includes: • Unlimited mesh messaging • Group chats • Location sharing • Offline features • Emergency signals • No ads Paid plans (Bridge Unlimited €19.99/month, Bridge Pro €49.99/month) add: • Bridge to WhatsApp/Telegram • Media sending (low resolution) • Cloud backup • Advanced analytics • Email support All core mesh features remain free forever.

Message range depends on the communication mode: • BLE Mesh (smartphones only): 30-50 meters between devices • Gateway Lite (LoRa): 1-5 km range • Gateway Pro (FSK): 300m-1km range with higher bandwidth • Gateway Pro (LoRa fallback): 1-5 km range • Gateway Pro: Same as Pro but with dual-processor optimization Messages can travel much farther by hopping through multiple devices in the mesh network.

Yes! MOSA is specifically designed for disaster situations: • Works without internet or cellular networks • ACFR algorithm prevents network congestion even under heavy load • Emergency messages get priority routing • Mesh network is self-healing (if one device fails, messages find alternative routes) • Battery-efficient for extended use However, MOSA is not a replacement for official emergency services (112 in EU). Always contact official emergency services for life-threatening situations.

Beta testing is planned for Q1 2026. The official release is scheduled for Q4 2026. You can sign up for beta testing on our website or contact us at [email protected] to express interest.

MOSA is compatible with: • iOS 14.0 or later (iPhone and iPad) • Android 8.0 (API level 26) or later • Devices with Bluetooth 4.0+ (BLE support) • For Gateway features: Gateway Lite, Pro, or Platinum devices Minimum requirements: • 100MB free storage • Active Bluetooth • Location permission (required for BLE scanning on Android)

No! For basic mesh communication, MOSA does not require: • Phone number • Email address • Account registration • Internet connection You can start using MOSA immediately after installation. However, if you want to use Bridge features (connecting to WhatsApp/Telegram), you'll need to create an account with an email address.

Group messaging in MOSA: • Create groups with up to 256 participants • Messages are encrypted and sent to all group members • Group messages are relayed through the mesh network • All participants must be within mesh range (or connected via Gateway) • Group admins can manage participants • Message history is stored locally on each device Group messaging works the same way as individual messages - they're just sent to multiple recipients simultaneously.

Yes, but with limitations: • Media sharing requires Gateway Pro or Platinum • Only works in FSK mode (not LoRa) • File size limit: <10MB recommended • Transfer speed depends on signal quality • Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, MP4, MP3, PDF Media is compressed and encrypted before sending. Large files may take time to transfer depending on network conditions.

Gateway models comparison: Gateway Lite (~€50): • BLE ↔ LoRa bridge • Range: 1-5 km (LoRa) • Text and location only • No voice or media • ~24 hour battery life • Best for: Budget users, long-range text messaging Gateway Pro (~€150): • FSK/LoRa mesh + PTT voice • Range: 300m-1km (FSK) or 1-5km (LoRa) • Full features: voice, media, text • Group voice calls (6+ participants) • ~27 hour battery life • Best for: Professional users, off-road groups Gateway Pro (~€60): • Dual-processor architecture • 1.9" LCD screen (standalone use) • 6800mAh battery (~85 hours idle) • All Gateway Pro features • Best for: Critical operations, command centers

Gateway setup is straightforward: 1. Power on the Gateway device 2. Open MOSA app on your phone 3. Go to Settings > Gateway 4. Tap 'Scan for Gateways' 5. Select your Gateway from the list 6. Follow on-screen pairing instructions 7. Configure protocol preferences (if applicable) For detailed setup instructions, see our Help section or contact [email protected]

Yes! You can host your own Internet Gateway. This gives you: • Full control over the gateway • No reliance on third-party services • Custom configuration • Enhanced privacy Requirements: • Linux server (Ubuntu 22.04+ recommended) • PHP 8.1+ • MySQL 8.0+ or PostgreSQL • SSL certificate For custom integrations, developers can use the API documentation available at gateway.talivio.com

ACFR (Adaptive Congestion-Free Routing) is MOSA's proprietary routing algorithm that prevents network congestion: • Monitors local network congestion at each node • Gives priority to emergency packets • Randomly delays low-priority packets • Calculates alternative routes to avoid congested areas • Uses trust scores to isolate malicious nodes This ensures the network remains functional even under heavy load, making it ideal for emergency situations.

MOSA uses a Zero-Knowledge architecture: • Messages are end-to-end encrypted (we cannot read them) • All data stored locally on your device • No central servers storing message content • Gateway operators cannot see message content • Minimal data collection (only what's necessary) • GDPR compliant Your privacy is protected by design, not by policy. Even if we wanted to, we cannot access your messages due to mathematical encryption guarantees.

If you lose your phone: • Your messages are stored locally on the device (encrypted) • If the device is locked, messages remain encrypted • You cannot recover messages from another device (by design, for privacy) • Your contacts can still message you (if they have your device ID) • You'll need to set up a new profile on a new device For Bridge features with cloud backup (Bridge Pro), you can restore some data if you had backup enabled.

Yes! MOSA works anywhere in the world: • No geographic restrictions • Works in any country • No roaming charges (no internet needed) • Protocol frequencies are legal in most countries • LoRa uses 868MHz (EU) or 915MHz (US) - check local regulations Note: Some countries may have restrictions on radio frequencies. Check local regulations before using Gateway devices.

Battery usage depends on usage: Light usage (occasional messages): • ~2-5% per hour • Minimal impact on battery Active mesh (frequent messaging): • ~5-10% per hour • Similar to other messaging apps With Gateway device: • Phone battery usage reduced • Gateway handles mesh communication • Phone only needs BLE connection Tips to save battery: • Close app when not in use • Reduce scan interval • Use Gateway devices to offload mesh communication
